The Lifespring School of Yoga is for anyone interested in deepening their understanding of the art of yoga sciences.   Become a yoga teacher or simply deepen your personal practice with Lifespring's School of Yoga 200 hour Yoga Alliance approved program.

Schedule:

Saturdays 8am-6pm (lunch break 12:30-1:30pm)

Sundays 8am-2:00pm (no lunch break, bring a snack!)

In between training weekends there will be self paced reading and assignments

Curriculum:

In accordance with Yoga Alliance standards this course covers:

  1. Techniques Training/Practice: asana practice and teaching, bandhas, mudras, pranayama, meditation, and other traditional yogic techniques.

  2. Teaching Methodology:  demonstration, observation, assisting and adjusting, instruction, teaching styles, and qualities of a teacher.

  3. Anatomy & Physiology: physical and energy anatomy & physiology (chakras, nadis, etc.) includes study of the subject and application as related to yoga practice.

  4. Yoga Philosophy, Lifestyle and Ethics: An in depth study of yoga philosophies, yoga lifestyle, ethics for yoga teachers, and business aspects of yoga.

  5. Practicum: actively engage in and observe the process of teaching & receiving feedback.

  • Different types of Sun Salutation

  • Sanskrit names of the asana and explanation

  • Over 75 poses in categories of standing, seated, inversions, twists, back bends, balancing

  • Postural Alignment

  • Assisting & Adjusting

  • Anatomy specific to yoga 

  • Therapeutics

  • Teaching multiple levels from beginner to advanced

  • Vinyasas

  • How to read bodies, both physically & energetically 

  • Teaching to special requirements such as pregnancy, children, seniors, back pain and more….

  • Ayurveda 

  • Beginner & Advanced Meditation Practices

  • Mantra & Chanting

  • Philosophy of Bhagavad Gita, Yoga Sutras, Hatha Yoga Pradipika 

  • Ashtanga Yoga and the 8 Fold Path

Payment Includes:

  • Unlimited yoga membership for the length of training 

  • Special guest teachers

  • Mentoring  with senior Lifespring teachers

  • Qualify to register with Yoga Alliance as a certified yoga teacher upon completion

  • Required books not included.  A list of materials will be provided upon receipt of deposit.
